John Wilkinson

John is one of our first aid trainers.

He retired from West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service (WYF&RS) in 2014, having joined in 1989 after a career in the Armed Forces.

John finished his career in West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service as a full-time instructor. He has a vast knowledge of first aid and has delivered training in many aspects of the subject.  

John currently holds the following qualifications:

Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS)
Immediate Life Support (ILS)
First Person on Scene (FPOS)
Certificate in Education (Huddersfield University)
FAAW Instructor
FAAW
A2 (D32) Assessor
Manual Handling Instructor (4 Day Train the Trainer course run by Osteopaths for Industry (OFI))
Road Traffic Collision (RTC) Instructor

He has also obtained the IOSH qualification 'Managing Safely'.

John has advised on the popular Television programme "Where the Heart Is" for an episode which included a "House Fire". He is a also a very keen cyclist.
